Colleges and universities are a vital part of the national effort to prevent and deter acts of terrorism and to enhance preparedness for response to terrorist incidents. Campuses encompass many elements that make them attractive for terrorist operations or as targets for terrorist attack. The Campus Preparedness Assessment process is an initial step toward meeting the goal of reducing risk from campus-related terrorist activity. The process is designed to be simple enough to be performed by colleges and universities of all sizes, yet comprehensive enough to achieve the desired results.
