Mission
The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators advances public safety for educational institutions by providing educational resources, advocacy and professional development.
About IACLEA
The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) was initially formulated by eleven college and university security directors. These eleven directors came together November 6, 1958, on the campus of Arizona State University to discuss job challenges and mutual problems, and specifically to create a clearinghouse for information and issues shared by campus directors across the country.
Today, IACLEA membership represents over 1,100 colleges and universities located in twenty countries. In addition to the colleges and universities, which are the Institutional Members, individual memberships are held by campus law enforcement staff members, criminal justice faculty members and municipal chiefs of police (current membership is over 2,000).
IACLEA's annual conference contains a professional program and informal participation aimed toward discussions of mutual problems, needs and solutions to these problems.
IACLEA's Campus Law Enforcement Journal, published bimonthly, is recognized as the professional voice of campus law enforcement administrators with a readership of over 1,700.
IACLEA provides a forum for members to discuss issues, keep abreast of new ideas and find solutions to the various problems on their campuses.
The Association by virtue of its members, has taken positive steps toward the future of our college and university campuses. With almost a half century of experience, the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators can look with pride to the past and with optimism to the future.
