Education and Learning
Develop, monitor and deliver topical training workshops to be sponsored by IACLEA or in partnership with other professional associations; develop the education program for the Annual and Mid-Year Conference. Develop a prioritized list of as many topics as possible that would be suitable for a web-based training medium. Identify one to three experienced instructors for each identified topic.

Campus Crime Prevention

Domestic Preparedness
Develops a compendium of best practices in campus counter-terrorist activities. Develops a recommended set of campus responses to changes in national terrorist alert level. Develops recommendations for on-going communication and information-sharing on terrorist threats between campus law enforcement and federal, state, and local law enforcement. Oversee the final evaluative report on activities under the grant.

Government Relations
Monitor and respond to proposed and enacted legislation impacting upon campus law enforcement or security in the U.S. and Canada; establish and maintain appropriate governmental and inter-organizational liaisons; develop and implement a system of state and provincial liaisons providing direct communication links; provide assistance to and advocacy for state or provincial legislative initiatives; develop programs to help member agencies respond to federal regulations affecting crime data and compliance with crime awareness laws. Seek development of communications with International Member Institutional Representatives to support their government relations programs.

Special Topics Committee
Work with staff in implementing new web-based tools to promote the exchange of information, resources, and best practices among IACLEA members. Specifically, this committee’s primary role will be to engage and encourage members to contribute resources to the new online Resource Library. The online Directory 2.0 and E-group products will enhance the sharing of information, ideas and best practices for the benefit of Association members and the campus public safety profession. A secondary charge is to make recommendations regarding IACLEA’S response to critical incidents on college and university campuses that draw significant national attention.
