The presenter will cover basic elements of Clery Act statistical capture, compilation and required policies and Title IX considerations, especially with respect to cross-campus coordination. The coercive control of people in relationships will be put forward as a model through which both campus law enforcement and student conduct should frame the factfinding process. Promising practices in responding to IPV through identification of the nature of the violence in a relationship will be reviewed with key points applicable to dispatch, patrol, and investigators; as well as housing, student affairs, and campus discipline professionals.
