Standards for Campus Public Safety Departments

Background

This is the second change notice to the Standards Manual of the IACLEA Accreditation Program, which was published in May 2004.  Change notices shall be numbered by edition number, followed by a decimal point and the sequential number of the change to that edition.  Change notices are an essential component of the standards for campus law enforcement; they help ensure these standards continue to reflect the best and most up-to-date information the profession can offer.

For the purpose of the record, Change Notice 1.1 was disseminated electronically in August 2004.  The loose leaf pages that accompanied Change Notice 1.1 bear that date.

Standards Amendments and Other Revisions Accompanying this Change Notice

Effective June 1, 2006, the IACLEA Accreditation Commission deleted the following standards:

              Standard 1.3.14 (Issued firearms to first responders), delete;

              Standard 33.5.4 (Clery Act training), delete;

              Standard 71.3.4 (Transport of prisoners by the opposite sex), delete.
