The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) is the largest professional association devoted to excellence in campus public safety and law enforcement. Our members are police chiefs, public safety directors, law enforcement officers, and security personnel at higher education institutions across the globe.
Our members enjoy the knowledge and camaraderie of a global network of campus public safety experts, who share best practices, solve problems, and set standards for the profession. IACLEA has done this for more than 60 years—making IACLEA the leading authority for campus public safety.
IACLEA was created by 11 college and university security directors who met in November of 1958 at Arizona State University to discuss job challenges and mutual problems and to create a clearinghouse for information on issues that campus public safety directors across the country share. Today, IACLEA has 7,000+ memberships, currently filled by 4,000 leaders in campus public safety representing by 1,000+ higher education institutions in 14 countries.
"If you are in campus law enforcement, being an IACLEA member is a no-brainer. The experiences, networking, trainings, etc. are second to none! An IACLEA membership allows you access to experiences and knowledge from law enforcement leaders across the world at the stroke of a button, by submitting questions through the online membership discussion group.” - Derri Stormer, Major, Wake Forest University (North Carolina)
"When I'm looking for information or assistance specific to college/university public safety issues, IACLEA is my go-to resource. The collegiality amongst the members--regardless of what country or region they come from--is exceptional. The information-sharing amongst the members and the networking is worth the cost of the membership alone, yet those aren't the only benefits. The trainings, workshops, and, of course, the Annual Conference & Exposition are also not to be missed." - Rob Kilfoyle, Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management, Humber College (Toronto, Canada)
“IACLEA has proven to be an invaluable resource to me, particularly during my transition from municipal policing to campus policing. From the networking and great information shared at the annual conference to keeping abreast of current issues through Association communications, to taking advantage of the array of relevant trainings offered, IACLEA helps ground my leadership in best practices, offers support at all organizational levels, and positively impacts campus law enforcement interests across the globe." -Kristen Roman, chief of police, University of Wisconsin-Madison (Wisconsin)
