The Assistant Director of Public Safety (a non-sworn position) provides the highest quality of public safety to faculty, staff, students, and visitors to Point Loma Nazarene University. The Assistant Director supports PLNU's Mission by fostering a safe learning, working, and living environment.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) has one Director, three Assistant Directors, 19 Public Safety Officers (PSOs), Community Service Officers (CSOs/part-time student workers), and Student Dispatchers (SDs/part-time student workers). PLNU DPS covers five San Diego campuses and other off-site locations.
The Assistant Director is responsible for providing direct supervision and management of patrol operations, direct supervision and management of the Dispatch Center, emergency preparedness programs, and administrative duties.
