IACLEA is pleased to announce the hiring of new Executive Director, Susan Riseling, who will assume the position effective, August 8, 2016.  This is a momentous occasion for IACLEA, which has previously received Executive Director staffing services from association management company, Association Resource, Inc.

Stated IACLEA President, William F. Taylor, In October 2015, the IACLEA Board of Directors voted to hire an executive director who has campus police chief experience, and would report directly to the Board of Directors, as well as manage the services provided by the contracted association management company.  After a thorough interview and hiring process, we are certain that Sue Riseling is the ideal candidate who will successfully lead IACLEA in a direction aligned with our strategic priorities.

She is considered an expert in date and acquaintance rape, crowd management and active shooter prevention.

Riseling stated, After a fantastic career in campus law enforcement, I cannot think of a better position than being the Executive Director of IACLEA.  It will allow me to continue to serve and make contributions to the field of public safety.  Riseling began her career at the University of Maryland College Park as the Manager of Security for Residence Life. She attended the University of Maryland for both her undergraduate and graduate work. After that, she served as the second in command at the State University of New York Stony Brook Police Department.

Riseling served four years as the Vice President At Large for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and is a Past General Chair of the College and University Police Section.  She has served on other IACP Committees as well.  In addition, she is a Past President of several state and local organizations, including: Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association, Wisconsin Police Executive Group, and the Dane County Chiefs of Police Association.  She is also the recipient of several awards, including, the NAWLEE Motorola Law Enforcement Executive of the Year and the Student Personnel Association Chancellors Award.
