Executive Development Institute Takes Leaders to the Next Level

IACLEA’s highly regarded Executive Development Institute (EDI) returns in 2019 as part of IACLEA’s Leadership Series. The 3½ day Institute is the only leadership training developed specifically for campus public safety officers; it will take place February 25–28, 2019, at Florida State University in Tallahassee.

The 2019 curriculum will include principles of leadership, managing staff, effective communications, accountability, organizational management, and other valuable sessions!

Chiefs and directors: EDI is tailored for you. But it is also a valuable investment in the professional development of standout members of your leadership team.

If you cultivate leaders within your agency and want to boost the leadership potential of your most talented staff, then EDI is for those personnel.

“I highly recommend the IACLEA Executive Development Institute for all leaders,” said IACLEA member Bill Woods, director of public safety at San Mateo County Community College District (California). “Top-notch training. Chief Perry [Florida State University] and his staff were great hosts.”

Captain Earl W. Scharff, Idaho State University Public Safety Department, echoed that reaction: “I feel the IACLEA EDI class is a must for any campus law enforcement/public safety supervisor,” he said. “The topics were very informative and delivered by powerful, motivated speakers. The topic of leading individuals from various generations was extremely valuable since our work forces have multiple generations working together as a team, and they all have different methods of being supervised.”

EDI offers focused coursework to develop your agency’s future leaders, thereby boosting succession planning, reducing liability, and improving the positive perception of the department.

Whether your agency is sworn or non-sworn, public or private, two-year or four-year, EDI is for you.

The cost of EDI 2019 for IACLEA members is $999 before the early-bird deadline of January 11, 2019. The price is $1,079 for members after January 11. The course is deliberately kept small. Please register early to guarantee a seat!

Registration opens to non-members on November 1, 2018; the cost is $1,249. After the early-bird deadline, non-member registration will rise to $1,329. Not a member--now is a great time to join!
