IACLEA President Eric Heath announced that Terry Branch, head of Security Services at Imperial College London, joined the Board of Directors as the new International Director. He hit the ground running, participating in the Fall 2020 Board meeting on October 8–9. His term expires in 2022.

“The Board and I look forward to working with Director Branch, to continue the cross-continent info-sharing and collaboration and to grow IACLEA’s membership with security and safety professionals in Europe and beyond,” said President Heath. “Thank you, Terry, for assuming this important role.”

Director Branch joined Imperial College London in 2001 and has been its leader since 2008. The agency consists of 156 officers, who serve on nine campuses.

Additionally, for more than a decade, Director Branch has been an active member of the Association of University Chief Security Officers (AUCSO), an organization with which IACLEA works closely.  He is the current London regional chair and the lead for AUCSO on Domestic Extremism and Counter-Terrorism.

Malcolm Dawson, who preceded Branch as International Director, voluntarily stepped down from the Board. The September/October issue of the Campus Law Enforcement Journal contains a tribute to Director Dawson.
