Dear IACLEA Members.

IACLEA surveyed the membership in December about the status of member agencies' budgets and guidelines on travel to determine the optimal way to present the Association’s premier leadership trainings—the Executive Development Institute (EDI), First-Line Supervisor Institute (FLSI), and the Annual Conference & Exposition—as we all adapt to the pandemic and its impact on operations. The response we received from hundreds of you was invaluable, and we thank all respondents.

The data made clear that in-person events in 2021 were not advisable, based on health-related travel restrictions and budget constraints. Like you, we miss engaging face-to-face with members and all that comes with networking in person.

Fortunately, IACLEA has adapted rapidly to the “new” environment and can provide you the training you expect and value that enhances your professional development and your agency’s performance. I am pleased to share the dates of IACLEA’s 2021 leadership institutes. And to let you know that the Annual Conference & Exposition will take place via a new, interactive, online platform that will provide additional ways to network, engage, and learn!

   First-Line Supervisor Institute                  Registration Open

                      April 7–28, 2021                              half-day sessions 2 x per week

                             Annual Conference & Exposition                Registration will open in March 2021    

June 22–25, 2021                                                 

Many courses will be presented live, and all will be recorded for those who miss a session or want to review the material.

No matter the venue, IACLEA looks forward to providing excellent educational programming from international experts. The online presentation—with no travel or accommodation costs, and reduced pricing—allows expanded participation from personnel in your agency. In fact, you can send three to four staff members to the virtual EDI and FLSI for the price of one in-person attendee!
