NACCOP Partnership with IACLEA Extended

IACLEA announced today that the National Association of Clery Compliance Officers and Professionals (NACCOP) has renewed its partnership with the Association, extending its Corporate Partnership agreement for 2022.

“IACLEA members receive invaluable information related to compliance with the federal Clery Act through the Association’s partnership with NACCOP,” said IACLEA President Patrick Ogden, Associate Vice President & Chief of Police at the University of Delaware. “It is vital that our members have an accurate understanding of the law and are able to efficiently comply with it to be successful campus public safety agencies. IACLEA is fortunate we have this partnership with NACCOP to provide expertise in this area,” he added.

NACCOP developed and launched a Clery Compliance Officer Certification program in 2016 and is excited to announce the association will start its The program provides participants with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a comprehensive professional development program that leads to a professional credential.  Program requirements involve a rigorous combination of educational initiatives, including successful completion of a self-paced online training program, participation in a series of live webinars designed specifically for the certification program, and a writing assignment. Candidates completing these requirements within two years will be eligible to take the Certification Exam to earn the Certified Clery Compliance Officer designation through NACCOP.

NACCOP and IACLEA partner to provide ongoing educational seminars on Clery Act compliance: Foundations of the Clery Act. The course—with virtual and in-person options in —provides a basic overview of the requirements of the Clery Act and is suited for people who are new to the Clery Act and those who have previously attended Clery Act training, as the curriculum is continually updated to include new information from the U.S. Department of Education.

The National Association of Clery Compliance Officers and Professionals (NACCOP) provides a professional association for Clery Compliance Officers and Professionals to collaborate with each other and share resources and best practices. Members are also offered opportunities to participate in professional development engagements that support colleges and universities in their efforts to comply with the Clery Act.

NACCOP delivers members with resources to enhance their knowledge of the Clery Act by offering education and training opportunities for the employees who are acting as Clery Compliance Officers on college and university campuses as well as information about Clery-related news and legislative updates. 

Collaboration with IACLEA Corporate Partners advances the Association’s strategic initiatives, furthers its educational mission, and enhances the ability of campus public safety agencies to protect institutions of higher education.
