I am pleased to announce IACLEA's new partnership in the country of Macedonia.

On April 29, 2023, Executive Director Paul Cell, IACLEA's International Representative, Terry Branch, and I traveled to Macedonia. The visit included the grand opening of the only non-U.S. branch office in IACLEA history. Due to the philanthropic efforts of Mike Solakov, a well-respected Macedonian native and established businessman, and his interest in IACLEA, this branch will be operated at no cost to the association.

The new partnership includes membership for Macedonian institutions and is available to other Eastern European countries. Our intention is to conduct assessments, share best practices in campus safety, develop procedures, deliver training, host a regional conference, and leadership development. During our visit, we had the opportunity to meet with with key leaders, academic representatives, law enforcement officials, and others to lay the groundwork for future projects.
