Award for Valor

Requirements: This award will be presented to an employee of an IACLEA institutional member campus public safety, police, or security department for an act or acts involving personal risk while acting on behalf of the college/university/campus or members of the college/university/campus.

Award for Valor winner receives a commemorative gift and will be recognized at the Annual Conference. Winner’s photograph and details of his/her award will be published in the summer edition of the Campus Law Enforcement Journal and posted on the IACLEA website. IACLEA pays hotel and transportation expenses for two nights for one person to attend the Opening Ceremonies at the Annual Conference for the Award for Valor winner.

Nominations will be accepted for incidents that happened during the application period. Nominations will also be accepted if the law enforcement chief/director stipulates that the matter was under investigation and that a prior submission would have compromised such investigation. Under these circumstances, you may submit the nomination in the award review year in which the investigation concludes.
