Responsibilities
Directs the University’s Clery Act Compliance Program. Establishes Clery Act compliance programs at each separate campus. Develops, audits, implements, and maintains required policies, programs and activities relating to the Clery Act (including the Violence Against Women Act) and Fire Safety in collaboration with internal and external constituencies. Stays abreast of pending and final changes to the Clery Act and other laws and regulations, which affect the provisions of the Clery Act.
In collaboration with the appropriate University Departments to identify and notify all campus security authorities for the institution and maintains a list of them for each academic year. Develops, provides, facilitates and/or coordinates training for institutional “Campus Security Authorities” and key stakeholders on Clery Act Requirements. Sends annual requests for crime statistics to all campus security authorities each year.
Serves as the institution’s designated “Campus Safety Survey Administrator” and submits the Annual Crime and Fire Safety Report to the Department of Education, as required by federal law. Ensures notices and the availability of the report are properly outlined and accessible to current and prospective students, faculty, staff and other visitors to the campus. Coordinates with the appropriate campus departments regarding HEA Fire Safety regulation compliance efforts. Provides, facilitates or manages training of campus security authorities and other partners, as necessary and appropriate. Sends annual request for crime statistics to all Campus Security Authorities each year.
Reviews incident reports and assigns the proper Clery crime category daily. Reviews incident reports for compliance to generate and disperse to the daily crime and fire log. Coordinates with the police department Investigations section to ensure that the disposition of all crime reports are updated within two business days to ensure Clery compliance.
Compiles crime and disciplinary referral data from various internal and external sources including, but not limited to: Student Conduct and Community Standards, Student Support and Transitions, Counseling and Psychological Services, University Housing, and various law enforcement agencies.
Serves as the Records Custodian for all Clery Act associated records. Trains and monitors key institutional partners in an effort to maintain accurate records on security awareness and crime prevention programs and presentations. Collaborates with Facilities and the Real Estate Foundation to maintain an accurate list of buildings and properties owned and/or controlled by the institution and/or recognized student organizations.
Collaborates with various internal partners to ensure standards are met with regard to the Drug Free Schools and Safe Campuses regulations, as well as the provisions of the Sexual Assault Victim’s Bill of Rights. Works with various institutional offices to ensure compliance with the implementation and disclosure requirements of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013. Serves as the Chair of the University Clery Compliance Committee.
Manages the institution’s Timely Warning Report program, ensuring a minimum number of test reports are completed each year in compliance with the required components of the HEOA definition of a test. Partners with the Emergency Management and the Office of Communications in compliance efforts regarding the Emergency Notification requirements of the Clery Act.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of experience.

Experience and training related to the Clery Act and the federal compliance regulations regarding the Clery Act.
Experience related to training Campus Security Authorities (CSA’s) for a higher education institution.
Experience and training related to creating and submitting the Annual Crime and Fire Safety Report for a higher education institution.
Experience working with law enforcement agencies and their personnel to collect data and statistics related to the Clery Act and the Annual Crime and Fire Safety Report.
Experience and training related to the requirements of sending out Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications for a higher education institution?
Ability to strategically plan and serve as a catalyst for organizational change, cultivate a shared vision with others, and motivate others to transfer vision into action.
Skilled in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.
