Government Relations Committee

IACLEA’s Government Relations Committee consists of campus law enforcement and public safety executives representing both public and private institutions of higher education. Members evaluate bills and policies and recommend to the Board of Directors positions/actions that IACLEA should undertake. The Committee establishes IACLEA’s legislative priorities, determining the initiatives that will receive the most focus.

IACLEA may be asked to take a position on an amendment or a change to legislation with very little notice (one day or so before a vote will be taken).

The 2022-2023 chair is Michael Murphy.

The committee meets in person at the Annual Conference & Exposition and by conference calls monthly.
