DAY 1:

Opening Ceremonies

The opening ceremony featured keynote guest speakers: Chief of Police (ret.), Carmen Best, Seattle Police Department, and Chief of the United States Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center, Lina Alathari, Ph.D.

The carnival-themed welcome reception was an exciting way to kickstart a week of awesome events at this year's Annual Conference and Exposition.

DAY 2:

Torch Run for Special Olympics

Attendees participated in the 2023 Torch Run for Special Olympics led by current President, Paul Dean.

General Session: It Can Happen To You: Mitigating Active Shooter Threats on Campus

Panelists shared their insights, experiences, and best practices for effective prevention and response. Areas of focus included warning signs, lessons learned, best practices in mitigation efforts, and federal resources available to colleges and universities.

General Session on the lessons in leadership with guest keynote speaker, Charles H. Ramsey, Metropolitan Police Department's Chief of Police (ret.) and Philadelphia Police Department Commissioner (ret.)

This candid conversation between the current Immediate Past-President, John Ojeisekhoba, and guest keynote speaker, Charles H. Ramsey allowed attendees to engage and ask open questions.

A Night at CityWalks' Universal: Chiefs Night

Attendees were invited to Universal CityWalk on Wednesday, June 28 for a block party on the upper level at Bob Marley's A Tribute to Freedom, the Red Cococnut Club, Pat O'Brien's , the Cowfish Prominade Patio, and CityWalk's Rising Star.  The night included a DJ, live band, karaoke, dueling pianos, plenty of food, and FUN!

DAY 3:

1st Annual Leadership Awards & Installation Gala featuring guest keynote speaker, Christopher Wray, Director of the Federal Bureau Investigation.

IACLEA presented its 1st Annual Leadership Awards and Installation Gala at The Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, FL.  The new 2023-2024 President, Paul Dean was sworn in by FBI Director Christopher Wray. New officers and the Board of Directors were installed by former Immediate Past President, Patrick Ogden.

DAY 4:

General Session: Clery Act & Title IX Updates with keynote guest speaker, U.S. Department of Education Clery Act Compliance & Campus Safety's Senior Advisor, Jim Moore.

Attendees were informed of the latest updates regarding the Clery Act and Title IX. Our expert speakers provided valuable insights and practical guidance to help the attendees stay compliant with these important regulations.  The session was sponsored by Allied Universal.
