Law Enforcement Mental Health Response September
Equips law enforcement officers with essential skills to handle mental health crises effectively. It includes components of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training, Mental Health First Aid for Public Safety, and Collaborative Crisis Response and Intervention Training (CRIT). These programs focus on understanding mental illnesses, developing communication skills, and fostering partnerships with mental health professionals. The training aims to improve outcomes in encounters between law enforcement and individuals with mental health issues by providing officers with the tools and knowledge needed for safe and effective crisis management.
