Portland State’s 49-acre downtown campus is located in the heart of one of America’s most vibrant centers of culture, business and technology. The Campus Public Safety Office (CPSO) provides emergency response, safety escorts, and patrol services to the campus 24/7. CPSO works with our university partners to ensure that Portland State University is a safe place. Our Services include Campus Police, Public Safety, Campus Dispatch, Access Control and Clery.

Campus Police Officers create a safe environment for students, faculty/staff, and the greater community by: patrolling campus buildings and grounds; ensuring university policies, rules, and regulations are adhered to; responding to emergency situations; rendering assistance; dealing with all types of persons under stressful conditions; promoting a positive image of the university as a whole, through an attitude of community services and outreach; and performing assigned duties in a competent and professional manner.

This is a full time position, working a varied schedule Sunday to Saturday. The starting hourly rate for this position will be between $29.72 to $32.77. PSU offers an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
