The Leading Authority For Campus Public Safety

2017 Award for Administrative Excellence

Director Pat Patton, University of Regina

Director Patricia Patton

The IACLEA Award for Administrative Excellence is presented to an employee of an IACLEA institutional member of a campus public safety, police, or security department for outstanding service in areas such as policy and planning, investigations, and/or crime prevention.  New and innovative ideas, cost savings, enhanced administrative techniques, and management ideas are some of the elements that are considered for award selection.

This year’s Award for Administrative Excellence is presented to Director Patricia “Pat” Patton of the University of Regina (Canada).  During a career that has spanned more than 3 decades, Pat can best be described as a trailblazer not only amongst her Canadian peers but her international ones as well.  Pat’s influence has positively shaped the University of Regina Department of Campus Security.  Whether that was building the security department from the ground up, centering the department’s philosophy on the importance of relationship building, serving as an integral partner and supporter of the homegrown Man Up for Violence Program, or tirelessly working to securing significant grants for improvements to sexual violence programs, Pat’s leadership has truly impacted her campus and her profession.
